Highlands

Back in October, I went up to the Highlands for a weekend with my boyfriend. We stayed at a lovely little B&B called Inchconnal in the village Glencoe and came well prepared with wellies, rain jackets, hiking boots and umbrellas. And of course our cameras!

Most of the weekend was pretty drizzly but we did catch the sun peeking through the clouds a few times. I really didn’t mind the clouds though, I think it makes for far more interesting photos than clear skies. We had a look around Glencoe & Ballachulish by foot and decided to also drive up to Fort William and Glen Nevis before heading back down to Edinburgh. I’m so glad that we did because some of my favourite shots from the weekend were taken there. We drove back before it got dark and stopped several times to capture the stunning views that we passed through on our journey home.

It was amazing to get to see the Highlands in autumn colours. There are supposedly plenty of deer around during this time of year, although we didn’t see any during our trip. At some point I’d really love to visit Isle of Skye and photograph some puffins as well. I’ve always been very fascinated by them but have never seen one in person… yet!
